About the Social Authentication Process (SAP)

Joiner uses a streamlined Social Authentication Process (SAP) for our Address Request feature. This approach helps ensure that users are interacting with verified friends by leveraging third-party platforms already chosen and trusted by the user.

How SAP works

When you want to request a friend’s home address on Joiner, simply send the request through a trusted platform where the friend’s identity has already been verified. The friend will receive a message that says, “What’s your address? Address request from [your name] on Joiner.” They can then reply with their address.

Example of how this works:

Justin opens their home to friends.

A friend taps the “Request Address” button on Justin’s home listing and selects a platform to request Justin’s home address.

Justin can reply to the instant message with their address.
